  14. Apple Computer has developed a unique scheme called dynamic node ID assignment.  This scheme allows each node to automatically set up a numeric network address when it starts up.

  16. Dynamic assignment has the advantage that no additional hardware is required to define an address and neither the end user nor the vendor need to administer the address assignment.
